Our Freestanding Roof Edge Protection System is a galvanised and highly versatile roof edge system to protect individuals from potential falls. It incorporates many unique features, including an aesthetic design for architectural applications and highly durable moulded recycled plastic weights with a long life span.

Our system is a permanent, modular, self-supporting guardrail system that is placed on flat or corrugated roofs to guarantee a wider range of applications on different surfaces.

Our unique Freestanding Roof Edge system and Roof Safety Barriers provide a safe environment for roof visitors who are working on flat roof areas, maintaining equipment such as air conditioning units, water tanks and aerials etc. The system will also take very little time and is easy to install and maintain. Its modular design means that it will create minimum disruption should it need repairing or parts removed.

Stability is provided by cantilever counter balance weights and our patent pending system can be easily installed around the complete roof perimeter or as a guide rail for a specific area or piece of equipment to provide a permanent safe working area.

When installed following approved guidelines, KITE Roof Edge Protection System meets the requirements of:

  • UK Health & Safety Executive (HSE) Work at Height (Amendment) Regulations 2007

System supplied galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461:2009

 

To comply with British Standard, Kite's Freestanding Roof Edge Protection System should be 1100 mm high, handrail centres 500 mm with a 100 mm Kick plates, unless there is an existing upstand on the roof. Uprights are placed every 3 metres with a 22 kg weight on a 1.2 m outrigger. Ends having double weights. The system should withstand 0.3 kn/m loading with no more than 25 mm deflection.
