​CLD Fencing Systems is a leading manufacturer and supplier of mesh fencing and security gates, operating globally. They offer high-security fencing solutions for a variety of sectors, including permanent and temporary fencing, access control systems, and rental systems. Their products, known for their quality and durability, are trusted in over 15 countries worldwide.


CLD Fencing operates numerous consignment configuration centres across the UK to streamline their logistics distribution. One such centre is the CLD Storage Unit located in Middlewich, Cheshire. The challenges at this site included:

 

  • Ensuring safe pedestrian access for engineers and truck drivers​​

  • Implementing a sleek handrail system with no welded parts and eco-friendly features​

  • Installing a maintenance-free, highly visible, and easy-to-install handrail system

DID YOU KNOW?

Middlewich is a town with a rich heritage. Founded by Romans, it was originally named Salinae due to the surrounding salt deposits and became one of their major areas for salt production. Later, in 1643 it would be the site of two decisive battles in the First English Civil War. Salt has long defined the town’s economy and to this day, 57% of the UK market share of cooking salt is produced in Middlewich.

KITE'S PART OF THE PROJECT

Kite understood the needs of the customer and supplied the site with the ModiFix handrail system. This handrail system met all of CLD’s requirements, offering a smart and sleek design that uses fewer clamps and involves no welding. These features made it an environmentally friendly system that saved up to 20% of the railing cost. The system can be easily installed and uninstalled using two types of clamps (clamp fitting 125 for corners, 150 for tube connections on the long run, and 132 as base plates).
